Todd Top 10 Worst Songs of 2020 Prediction!

2020.10.20 02:45 RichyRichy23 Todd Top 10 Worst Songs of 2020 Prediction!

IK a lot of people are probably doing this, but I can't help it! I love all of Todd's videos but I love his pop song reviews most and (a guilty secret of mine) nothing gets me more hype than his year end lists!!! FYI, I actually really love pop music and don't hate most of these, this is just what I think he would put.
  1. Savage Love
This song reminds of Only Human by Jonas Brothers because of that cheap leading melody, and Todd doesn't like Derulo so I think this would be on the list. Not very high though because Todd didn't tweet about it, even though a lot of people don't like it.
  1. I Hope
I doubt he would put this on the list more than the other entries because it has a good sentiment on the lyrics, and it's a female country hit which is good! That's always a good thing. However, I think the production sounds like garbage and I think he might too since he complains about country not sounding country anymore.
  1. THE SCOTTS
I'm not sure if he will hate this song, its not really outwardly bad but its pretty generic, and I remember Todd saying people were wearing off of Travis kind of selling out this year.
  1. 10000 Hours
This song is pretty forgotten at this point but just the kind of bland Ed Sheeran-esque Maroon 5-esque song that Todd might hate.
  1. Party Girl
Saw Todd tweet that he might put this song on the worst list when he said he wouldn't put Before You Go. I see good reason why, its a random TikTok hit with a rapper with a really strange voice, similar to YK Osiris. Todd hates weird voice rappers like Lil Baby.
  1. Falling
Reminds me of i hate u, i love u. Random white rapper and super generic song. Pretty bland, inexplicitly huge.
  1. POPSTAR
Todd said this is his least favorite Drake hit this year by far, and Todd puts Drake quite frequently on his worst lists (Started From the Bottom, Yes Indeed). Todd also probably hates how commercial this song is, forced promotion with a video with Bieber in it for no reason, and DJ Khaled's on it.
  1. Yummy
Similar to Filthy by Justin Timberlake. Not sure anyone likes this song.
  1. hot girl bummer
Todd tweeted about this song before.
  1. Mood
Todd tweeted about this and said hes putting it very high, its gotta be top 5 at least. This is I think the only song he's tweeted about with an overtly negative tone, along with hot girl bummer.

2020.10.19 18:32 death2boredom What would the lyrics to Baam's version of Dual Lipa's "New Rules" or Justin Bieber's "Love Yourself" towards Rachel be?

This came to mind in a discussion of Baam's yandere mode towards Rachel at the Train Station in the comment section of AoA's latest read-through video. I made a list of what Rachel has done to keep Baam following her and it reminded me of the feel of those two songs-
Don't hurt his friends, don't work with the people that want to control his life, don't show up in the places you know he'll be, don't leave breadcrumbs to where you will be in that place, and don't kidnap someone important to him.
That's of course just things up to that point in the story and there's more later, so yea. I honestly think it'd be a fun song. Just not good enough to make the lyrics myself haha

POTOMAC
"Karen Huger isn't going to turn against Monique Samuels.
In a preview for next week's episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac, Karen, 57, slams Candiace Dillard for what she views as her fellow Housewife trying to make her choose a side following Candiace's physical altercation with Monique, 37.
"I'm a little upset that you continuously say I should be against Monique," Karen tells Candiace, 33, in the teaser.
"I need to hear from you that you understand what Monique did was wrong," Candiace replies. (As viewers recall, Monique attacked Candiace earlier this season and appeared to hit her repeatedly on the head.)
"You want me to choose a side and to totally abandon Monique, and I'm not going to do that for you," Karen yells.
Candiace and Dr. Wendy Osefo explain that they don't want Karen to "abandon" Monique, but to simply hold her accountable for her actions."
"After I had the meeting with my pastor, I received this email. My attorney advised that I only speak to Candice with him present. We asked several times for a mediation sit down and she and her attorney REFUSED. She didn’t want to hear an apology! She wanted money."
"You missed the part that we tried to arrange several sit downs and she and her attorney refused. All of this was prior to the filing." (link)
"When my attorney said no we’re not paying her anything because this was not an “attack” or an “assault” but a “mutually consented” altercation (a warning to back up was given followed by her egging on by saying “what you gon do? You gon drag me?”), her attorney’s response was..." (link)
“Well we’re going to sue Monique for MILLIONS and bravo will capture it all!” Then they filed the complaint. Then I countered. Then the state threw both charges out. The End." (link)
Monique had plenty more to say on her Twitter last night but these are the main points.
"The Real Housewives of Potomac Executive Producer, Kemar Bassaragh, opened up about the process of asking cast member to return (or not) during the October 8 episode of The Daily Dish podcast.
“There’s a lot of people involved in that process and we don’t always say we wanna change it up. It all depends on what is going on in someone’s lives,” Bassaragh explained. “For example, if you’re following me, and you were on my journey, and I got married and had a kid, and you were following all this stuff and then you were like, so what is going on in your life coming up? And I was like, ‘Honestly, that’s really it. Like, I’m married. I have a child. Like, there’s nothing new that I can show you.’ That’s usually what happens when someone doesn’t get invited back to our show, because it’s really because of what’s happening in their lives.”
"If they’re at a stalemate, you don’t wanna come back and watch the same exact thing in someone’s lives happening over and over and over again,” he continued. “You wanna see progression and if they’re at a point in their lives when they’re like, 'Guys, you know, everything that I’ve done, I’m tapped out,' it’s usually a mutual decision where everyone is like, ‘well, you know, we really like you, but unfortunately, there’s nothing new happening in your lives, and we’ve already followed you as much as we can.’”
Although it can be tough to say goodbye to a cast member, Bassaragh explained that the excitement of having a fresh face come in makes it easier to “move along.” For example, he noted that The Real Housewives of Potomac’s newest cast member, Wendy Osefo, has been an excellent addition.
“I’m stealing Candiace [Dillard's] word. Wendy is really Black Girl Magic personified. I love her,” he said. “Like, I love her on every level as a person, and as someone that is new to Potomac because she has so much to offer. She made herself the voice of reasoning, and as you’ve seen, there was a lot of back and forth and Wendy emerged as someone who literally was what we were thinking as people watching the show.”

"Oma" Yolanda is sharing a photo of her new grandkid – 21st century-style.
Yolanda Hadid posted a picture Sunday of tiny hands holding her fingers.
"My heart is expending with so much love and joy for this little baby girl she is an angel sent to us from above," the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" alum, 56, said on the Instagram post. "Thank you Mommy & Daddy for making me a Oma, I love every minute of it."
The little one is the first child of Hadid's model daughter Gigi and her musician boyfriend, Zayn Malik, who confirmed the birth Sept. 23."
ORANGE COUNTY
"Braunwyn toured ET's Lauren Zima around her workout room, private nightclub room --complete with stripper pole -- her personal theater and her bedroom. When it came to her spacious closet, Braunwyn joked, "No one's allowed in here. Just me!"
The star then revealed that Sean is "not living here right now." Addressing speculation and rumors that the pair have called it quits, Braunwyn says the truth is actually quite the opposite.
"I love him dearly, we haven’t gotten along this well in a long time," she shared. "We’re redefining what marriage means to us. Not following the old, antiquated rules anymore."
"We're finding a new normal. We're renegotiating the terms of the contract when it comes to our marriage, for sure," she shared during her conversation with ET. "We are [and] we will be married forever. We have one hundred percent faith we are going to raise our kids and grandkids together."
"That being said, do we have to fall into the social norms that everyone else does? No," she added. "We're doing it our own way. Like I said, [it's a] modern marriage."
Braunwyn flat-out rejected the rumors and tabloid reports that she and Sean are planning on divorce, and explained that they've got an open marriage and are making things work in their own way. However, that doesn't mean they haven't had struggles recently.
Reflecting on the qualities that have made it possible to maintain their love, Braunwyn said it's all about "honesty and communication."
"We had to have some really hard talks, don't get me wrong. This has not been easy," Braunwyn shared. "We've definitely had hard times. So for us sometimes [we] can blow everything up to patch it back together."
During this new and unique time in her marriage, Braunwyn has also been working hard to stay sober after a long struggle with alcoholism. The reality star explained that she's been sober since January and reflected on the challenging journey.
"One day at a time, 256 one days at a time. I have a lot of gratitude," she continued. "I have a lot of amazing people in my life that have supported me and I'm so thankful that I was finally able to realize that I can't drink anymore. I've tried every way to drink and none of them work and so having that weight lifted off me, that it's not a choice anymore ... it's just, like I said, one day at a time because I don't want to get ahead of myself. But for today, I don't want to drink and I feel so good. I feel great."
NEW JERSEY
"The Manzo’d with Children matriarch is revealing how she really feels about her eldest son Albie Manzo’s significant other, Chelsea DeMonaco.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey alum once again proved she doesn’t shy away from voicing her opinion, recently taking to social media to give Chelsea, whom Albie started dating last year, her stamp of approval. Caroline showed her support in an Instagram post on October 17, sharing a sweet photo of the couple laughing and looking into each other’s eyes.
“Nothing better than seeing your children with a genuine smile on their face,” Caroline wrote in the caption alongside the photo, also adding several heart emojis.
This isn’t the first time that Caroline has offered some insight into Albie’s personal life. Several months before Albie and Chelsea went Instagram official, the mom of three hinted that he “might be getting engaged soon.”
Back in July, Albie offered his own update on his relationship with Chelsea, sharing his gratitude for her support with some lyrics from a Justin Bieber song. “’Shout out to your Mom & Dad for making you’ -my friend Justin (he’s from Canada) said that in a song once," he wrote on Instagram at the time."

2020.10.16 05:33 sistersystemm Infodump about special interests as a kid!

When it first occurred to me (20F) I might have autism, I was quick to dismiss it because I don’t have special interests, and couldn’t think of any I had as a kid. But... it turns out I actually had a lot. I didn’t really get to infodump about them as a kid, and I never realized it was so particular! I wanted to share about my childhood special interests because they still make me really happy.
• Dogs I LOVED dogs. I wrote stories about them and drew the pictures, I had 3 dogs growing up, and it got to a point where I was using our dial-up Internet to research dog breeds, collect information, and print out pictures to make posters of about a dozen different dog breeds. I collected figurines, and I remember writing down info about a lost dog in my area and persistently searching out the car window anytime we went on a car ride looking for said lost dog.
• I briefly collected coins, any coin that wasn’t your standard canadian change. I had a display case and everything.
• Olympic gold medalists? This one’s a bit weird. I guess I was really stoked when the Olympics came to Canada in 2010. I made a large cardboard info board about every olympian who got a gold medal (or potentially any medal?) and made paper posters with their name, where they were from, what sport they won their medal & when.
• Music: I got really into music at a young age! I used to write down song lyrics in binders and I probably had about 4 of them full of songs by certain artists (Marianas Trench, Simple Plan to name a few) This also developed into obsessions over bands and artists. I had a huge Justin Bieber phase, then One Direction, the usual. I’d find every song by these artists, past the ones released by record labels. I’d search the depths of the Internet to find that one Ed Sheeran song he recorded at like 15.
Ooo. Best for last. Snow leopards! I still love snow leopards. I did all my school animal reports on them. I could talk about snow leopards all day, they have a special place in my heart. It’s a long shot but I hope to one day see one in person.
Thanks for listening to my infodump :)

2020.09.30 15:39 OverScrotum GINGER Review

GINGER is the fifth studio album from rap group, or self proclaimed boy band, BROCKHAMPTON. This is their second album following the departure of a once prominent and key member of the group, Ameer Vann. Mr. Vann was an essential part of the group’s first three albums, SATURATION I, II, and III. Some may have even called him the face of the group, despite not being the group‘s leader, due to the fact that he was on the cover of three albums, and could be regarded as the group’s most talented rapper. This departure, which occurred months after a wildly successful 2017, took all of the wind out of BROCKHAMPTON’s sails, causing them to shelf the group’s upcoming, highly anticipated album PUPPY. The snippets that the group previewed prior to the release of this album and prior to the announcement of Ameer Vann’s departure still sound like some of the group’s best work to date, but will never see the light of day. This was apparent in the group’s 2018 album, iridescence, as it was less cohesive, and more scattered than any three of the SATURATION albums. Not a bad album by any means, but a side step in BROCKHAMPTON’s career trajectory that I think the group as well as the fans are happy to leave in the past. Seeing them perform on the ‘I’ll Be There’ tour, their US tour for iridescence, compared to the ‘Love Your Parents’ tour and at Governor’s Ball in 2019, it was clear to see that they were distressed during this time period, and had an immense amount of pressure to keep releasing music as well as perform through their pain. Along with having a lasting impact on the rest of the group, the removal of this member has also created a divide in the BROCKHAMPTON fan base. I won’t speak too much on it here, but this decision by the group was, and still remains to be, a very divisive choice.
Now, you may be asking, why did you spend so much time talking about the group’s past, since this album was released in August of 2019, a year and a few months after the departure of Ameer Vann? Well, if you’ve listened to GINGER, it’s apparent that this departure is still having an impact on the members of the group. I’m not saying this is a negative, I actually see it as more of a positive for this album. If iridescence was a quick reaction to the departure of Ameer, GINGER was a drawn out, premeditated response to it. Where iridescence was scattered, GINGER is cohesive. Where iridescence was aggressive, GINGER is emotional. This album showed a side to the group that I don’t think I ever expected to see. Another appropriate title this album could’ve had is MATURATION, to show the contrast between BROCKHAMPTON in 2017 and BROCKHAMPTON today (well, in 2019.)
SUGAR, the group’s first real smash hit, was initially planned to be the lead single off of GINGER and would’ve been a great choice, but this idea was changed when the song leaked back in June, two months before the album’s release. This led the group to choose I BEEN BORN AGAIN, a good, but not great, song as the album’s lead single. It wasn’t a typical choice, as the three SATURATION albums all had some of their best bangers as lead singles. Again, not a bad song by any means, but a strange choice for lead single as it didn’t really have the bouncy production or catchy hooks that BROCKHAMPTON are known and loved for. The second single from GINGER, IF YOU PRAY RIGHT, is a total banger, with off the wall production and great, animated verses from each member. Dom spitting his ass off, sticky hook from Kevin, simple but effective mini-verses from Matt and Merlyn, and Joba closing it out with one of his wackiest verses ever. I’d say this is a clear highlight from the album, and could go head-to-head with a lot of BROCKHAMPTON’s SATURATION era bangers. The next single, BOY BYE, is another great track. Bouncy beat, insane verses from Dom, Matt, and Kevin, and a great performance of the hook from both Matt and Merlyn. Despite how much I love this track, I always end up skipping it after the chorus. I think this song shows a clear difference in BROCKHAMPTON pre-departure and post-departure. I try not to envision Ameer as a part of the group anymore, but it’s hard not to when this beat would’ve complimented him so well, and the extremely underwhelming verse from Bearface makes me wish Ameer was on it. The fourth and final single from the album, NO HALO, is a guitar-driven, emotional slow burner with a guest hook from Deb Never. Probably my least favorite of the four singles, just not a song I find myself going back to that much. I don’t dislike it, I just don’t love it. The verses are emotionally charged, but something about the production and some of the lyrics just seem corny or cringeworthy to me in a way that I can’t exactly put my finger on.
Now that we’ve gotten through the singles, let’s get to the whole album. Standing at 12 tracks and 44 minutes long, GINGER is BROCKHAMPTON’s most concise and to the point album yet. I already spoke on the opening track, NO HALO, but let me add that I don’t think this was the best choice for the album opener. Something I love album all other BROCKHAMPTON albums is that their opening tracks ALWAYS. ABSOLUTELY. BANG. I think GINGER would’ve benefited from the same thing, opening up with a banger instead. The second song, SUGAR, which I mentioned before, is an exceptional track, with an extremely catchy hook done by unofficial member and BROCKHAMPTON affiliate, Ryan Beatty. Fans of the group are most likely already familiar with him, as he also performs the hook on the group’s second biggest song, BLEACH. Ever since I heard this hook in the leak, it was just stuck in my head and I couldn’t wait for this song to get an official release. The verses are great, with Dom doing insane auto tune tricks, and Matt sounding smooth as ever. I also think they utilized Bearface perfectly on this track, using his great voice instead of forcing a verse from a below average rapper when it just wasn’t necessary (looking at you, BOY BYE.) Kevin’s bridge is also extremely catchy and beautiful, as it sounds like he’s doing his best Justin Bieber impression (but better than anything off of Changes, sorry, Justin.) Spoke about BOY BYE before, but again, let me just say that I love the first half and the hook of this song, but Bearface and Joba just underperform. HEAVEN BELONGS TO YOU is a 90 second song featuring the UK’s slowthai. The instrumental is a deconstructed version of IF YOU PRAY RIGHT, and is a pretty good addition to the album, despite only being a minute and a half long detour, similar to songs like 2PAC, TEETH, JESUS, and LIQUID from the SATURATION albums. One thing I can’t wrap my mind around though, why was ST. PERCY put between this and IF YOU PRAY RIGHT? It just doesn’t make sense, and in my opinion, ST. PERCY should’ve been the opener. ST. PERCY starts off with a minimalist beat, with Kevin using a subdued voice and flow, that we saw him start experimenting with on his ARIZONA BABY album. While I do think his use of this flow got old quickly, I love it on this song. Following his verse, there’s a sample from D-Flexx’s ‘Only God Knows’ that I do wish was utilized more, but was still a nice addition to the track. Following this up, Matt and Dom have absolutely fire verses, but again, I’m let down by Bearface’s performance. He’s just trying too hard to have this aggression that isn’t there, and uhhh, the Michael Vick line? It’s a no from me man. Spoke on IF YOU PRAY RIGHT before, but again I just wanna say WHY WAS ST. PERCY PUT BETWEEN THIS AND HEAVEN BELONGS TO YOU? Heaven belongs to you, if you pray right. It just makes sense???
DEARLY DEPARTED. Probably the boys’ most emotionally charged and heavy songs ever, speaking directly about the departure of Ameer Vann. I won’t speak too much on the lyrical content, but I’ll just say that I like the sound of this track, verses and hook are good, I just don’t listen to this song a lot due to the emotion and pain behind it. Spoke on I BEEN BORN AGAIN before, good track, but weird choice for lead single. The title track is pretty easily my least favorite song here, I just don’t really like the sound, the verses are weird, I just could’ve done without it. I think GINGER would’ve benefited A LOT from keeping this song off of the album, and replacing it with another banger, maybe RICH BOY (https://youtu.be/ztW9C8nzduk) which was previewed on Episode 3 of GINGER RADIO, or CAPRI-SUN (https://youtu.be/0g9JVDGeiWs) which was previewed in a tour promo video. The following track, BIG BOY, has always stuck with me for some reason. I really like the pitched-down effect on Kevin’s voice on the hook, and the auto tune he uses during his verse. Joba also has a very good verse in my opinion, with great, hard hitting lyrics. LOVE ME FOR LIFE is a good song, with an interesting and pretty unique instrumental. I do think Kevin and Joba’s verses both could’ve been cut down a bit and have another member added to the front half of the track, but Merlyn’s KILLER outro verse makes up for it in my opinion. VICTOR ROBERTS, the closing track, is another emotionally charged track, which features a verse from a man named Victor Roberts, and this is actually his debut verse. He tells his extremely hard-hitting life story, which is followed by a great chorus sung by Ryan Beatty, and a pretty good hook done by Bearface. In my opinion, this was a great choice as a closer for the album. “Thank God that I’m built for the distance.”
Track list ranking
SUGAR > BOY BYE > IF YOU PRAY RIGHT > ST. PERCY > BIG BOY > DEARLY DEPARTED > VICTOR ROBERTS > I BEEN BORN AGAIN > HEAVEN BELONGS TO YOU > LOVE ME FOR LIFE > NO HALO > GINGER

In 2009, Kinetics & One Love started releasing experimental hip-hop projects and writing and producing for other artists.

Derrick Milano profile:

On one of the busiest days of music releases so far (March 13), a certain name in the credits keeps reappearing. By now, Derrick Milano, a Philadelphia, Pa.-bred artist, has slowly but surely earned the trust and respect of the hottest stars. He landed credits on DaniLeigh’s new track “Levi High” featuring DaBaby; Rich The Kid’s new album, BOSS MAN; and and Kiana Lede’s “Forfeit” featuring Lucky Daye, with plenty more in the works behind the scenes.
Although being a recording artist was always the goal at the top of the list, Derrick Milano is best described as the man who continuously refuses to be boxed in. His ability to shape-shift to fit whatever role is needed to bring the best out of any track being worked on, makes him an undeniable influence in the room as a production connoisseur. From A&R-ing a huge chart-topping hit from start to finish Megan Thee Stallion's “Hot Girl Summer”, to ad-libbing on records including Nicki Minaj's “Yikes,” to co-writing for singers such as Justin Bieber, Kehlani, and Kiana Lede, Milano’s artistry and capacity to help other artists knows no bounds.
Before the high profile studio sessions with artists such as Nas, Cardi B, Juicy J, and Minaj lies a lifelong journey of chasing dreams. Milano took no shortcuts, though, and the quest has been documented to prove it. From singing in the church choir, to scrolling for hours on SoundClick looking for beats to rap over, to battle rapping in high school and eventually hustling endlessly to make a name for himself in college, Milano built up his career brick by brick, ensuring the years of work would prepare him for his pivotal moment.
What would you say has been the pivotal moment so far in your career?
I worked on “Simon Says” for Megan Thee Stallion with this artist named Wolftyla. Juicy J brought us in on the project. Megan ended up cutting the hook, doing her own thing to it, and then the song kind of blew up on her project on Fever. Juicy J produced it and then Juicy J was calling me every day like, “Megan needs stuff. Megan needs stuff.” We were sending ideas and I said, at the end of the day, whatever I could do to help, I'll help. So he told me that she wanted to do a song with Drake, and Juicy said we just need to come up with a dope idea that would be good for them both. I knew it was going to be hard because Drake is one of those artists that’s impossible to work with or get to.
We had a whole bunch of beats sent over. The beats were OK, but they weren't strong enough. I got into the studio with this producer named Bone Collector. He pulled up this one beat and I did the “Hot Girl Summer” hook. For that inspiration, a girl I used to deal with was just posting on Instagram and she was constantly like “hot girl summer” and every girl was repeating the “real a-- b---h give a f--k ‘bout a n---a” (from “Act Up” by City Girls). So I decided to flip it and make it a n---a perspective.
I sent it back to Juice. I said, “I think this is the one, but I think it's missing your drums. It’s not ratchet enough.” So I brought Juicy in on production. We ended up giving the hook to Ty Dolla $ign. Gave it back to Megan, and she did her part.
We were about to put it out, but we were like, "It needs something." Shout out to Murda Beatz. He introduced me to Nicki Minaj. That's, like, my sis. Me and Nicki started building up our relationship.
At that time, "Hot Girl Summer" was the biggest conversation and it was summertime when I met her. I was telling her about this record Megan got, and Nicki said Megan is dope and that she’d love to work with her. I told her it would be dope if she put a verse on it. I just planted the seed. One night, they were on Instagram Live and Megan asked Nicki to get on the record. It was like, “Let’s do it.” I pulled up on Nicki, she got on the record, and boom -- the song came out.
You’ve been in the room with some of the best rising talent. Who are some people you really believe in?
Kiana Lede. I did a lot on Kiana’s new album and I’m excited for people to hear that, for real. I was really excited about Pop Smoke. That’s my dog. My favorite artist is 50 Cent. When I had the opportunity to work with Pop Smoke, I just thought of how Eminem, Scott Storch and Dr. Dre got to work with 50 Cent in that era, I obviously never got the chance to work in that era. I was thinking, now maybe we could create that with Pop Smoke since he reminded me so much of 50. Bringing him into a world where we can make his sound so universal but still New York.

Alicia Nicole

She's a South Florida R&B singer, here's a taste

London Jae

Was on Young Thug's early mixtapes, signed to B.o.B, then Grand Hustle, has written with Rihanna and Beyoncé. He co-wrote Bhad Bhabie’s “Gucci Flip Flops,” Hitmaka’s “Thot Box,” Tinashe’s “Like I Used To,” and most importantly, Cardi B’s “Bartier Cardi”. He talks about writing in this interview

Good Intentions

Cash co-wrote Turks and Codeine. Earlly Mac co-wrote Coast to Coast

2020.09.09 13:22 sunshinerainsnow Taylor’s folklore press release and Aaron dessner’s folklore comments

I keep going back to what both of them have said about folklore.
Aaron dessner seemed convinced that William Bowery is not joe Alwyn. He said it was another singer-songwriter. He also says “the 1” is not from Taylor’s POV. I find these thoughts very interesting.
If not joe Alwyn, then I think the only realistic possibility is Harry styles. No one else would use a pseudonym.
I have no idea who “the 1” is about. Thoughts?
“Peace” and “hoax” seem to be a duo of sorts. Two songs about how you take on the burdens of your romantic partner. You don’t love them in spite of their faults. You love them because of their faults etc.
However, “hoax” screams Selena Gomez POV. And this brings me back to Taylor’s press release. I’ve looked everywhere and haven’t been able to find anyone suggesting that Taylor wrote this song for Selena from her perspective.
I’ve been thinking about this for a while but never thought to share.
Here are some lyrics that relate to Selena Gomez and her relationship with Justin Bieber and how the song might be about them.
“Stood on the cliffside screaming, "Give me a reason"”
Selena Gomez has spoken publicly about her experiences with depression and suicidal thoughts.
“Your faithless love's the only hoax I believe in Don't want no other shade of blue but you”
Justin Bieber repeatedly publicly cheated on her but she kept going back. She loved him no matter what. He has publicly spoken about depression etc. but she still wanted only him, only his sadness. She wants to take on his pain.
“My best laid plan/ Your sleight of hand/ My barren land/ I am ash from your fire”
She made plans. He fucked them up. There were rumors way back when that she was pressured into have an abortion - “my barren land.”
“You knew it still hurts underneath my scars /From when they pulled me apart/ You knew the password so I let you in the door”
She had a very public kidney transplant surgery. They got back together shortly after this, after their longest break.

2020.08.29 06:13 RedHeadReviews The Emerging Embers Of A Self Formed Identity On Jaden’s ‘CTV3: Cool Tape Vol. 3’ - Album Review

The rise of Jaden Smith, now recognised as Jaden, within the music industry, has been a perplexing one, to say the least. The media mogul would originally exhibit and pursue his creative outlet within the world of film before eventually venturing into music, and forming a rebranded act he could finally call his own. But that’s just the issue. As it became painfully obvious that the Jaden brand was not his own, but instead a shameless mould that would leech off of the success of others. To me, Jaden was the result of industry connections and spoon-fed success, primed with the tools to rip-off and suck the life out of any trend or creative motif he found attractive. It is between this, and a relentless desire to weasel into his work a fraudulent sense of profound wokeness, that has not only resulted in a damaging sense of self- entitled pretentiousness, but a simultaneous sense of disingenuine performity. Constantly turning myself, and those not entranced by his surface-level aesthetic thievery, away.
Jaden’s latest album ‘CTV3: Cool Tape Vol. 3’ actively seeks to re-write the wrongs of a linear minefield. As suggested by its titular status, the third installment in his painfully derivative series turns a new leaf in the Jaden canon. Whilst leagues below a perfect album, ‘CTV3: Cool Tape Vol. 3’ marks the beginning of what I can only hope to be a sustained progression of self-established identity. Whilst in principle a continuation of the pop, r&b, and alternative fusion Jaden has so synonymously toyed with, it is within execution in which the album differentiates itself from its predecessors. Emerging from the record are more refined and clearly dictated movements, at times immaculate production, and most importantly, a sense of identity. Whilst hinting at a redefining arc would be overzealous and exaggerated, as elements of an amateurish Jaden plague the record, ‘CTV3: Cool Tape Vol. 3’ finally feels like Jaden’s claim to, for the most part, his identity.
The opening track ‘Circa 2015’ feels like the full extension of Jaden’s often questioned talents, as he finally finds a pocket in which he exceeds. Built upon a spine of gorgeous, cinematic instrumental phases, Jaden forges a delicate scene through the orchestration of serene strings, cascading horns, and dreamy keys. The lyrics follow a similar picturesque direction as Jaden utters fond memories of youthful, naive love, reminiscing over a shared appreciation for the organic world, and heartfelt devotion. I can’t help but feel encompassed and immersed within his nostalgic recounts when the scenario is delivered with some of Jaden’s most convincing and sweet-toned vocals to date.
Though defined by a distinct and shared appreciation for cinematic, and at times ethereal production, Jaden struggles to re-capture the full-bodied competence on ‘Falling For You’. Where a real innocence and vintage charm lies within the tracks instrumental, with its luxurious strings and sustained boyish flair, Jaden bites off more than he can chew with his lyrically dire infatuated obsessions. His one-dimensional approach feels particularly un-advisable as he plays up to the tumultuous frustrations of love. An even greater offense is the presence of collaborator Justin Bieber. What perplexes me perhaps the most about this miscalculation of a song, is that within Bieber’s most flavourless stage of his career, Jaden still manages to emerge as the weaker and less inspired of the two. Though Bieber’s inclusion doesn’t exactly feel justified with just how minute of a presence he leaves.
Things continue to take a turn for the worst as we progress through the documented chronological predecessor to Jaden’s clunky and misconceived fictitious escape. I can’t help but feel as if, on multiple occasions, something is lost in translation as Jaden attempts to transfer his cerebral and intimate thoughts into music. No track feels more like a well-intentioned blunder than ‘Everything’. Jaden sings of an intimate partner who manifests and brightens every aspect of his day, manifesting themselves as the crux of the crooner's happiness. I say ‘sing’, but Jaden delivers his lines in such a grueling and sloth-like demeanor, that he ends up coming off as monotone and dull. This drab sound is only accentuated by just how tedious and abusively excessive he is with his repetition of “You’re my everything”. Yet another cut who’s championing of monotone and emotionless crooning continues to perplex me is ‘Muted Sunrise’. Try as he might, this mellowed bellowing fails to evoke anything in the way of emotional potency and instead feels heavy-handed. Serving as yet another point of contention to the delicate production that flows throughout.
The album, though not without its major blemishes and bumps, certainly boasts a handful of highlights that, to me, stand out as some of the most convincing and compelling music within the Jaden discography. With its alt-rock and indie pop inspiration, it is the claustrophobic, yet dainty ‘Cabin Fever’ that I find best exhibits Jaden’s talents. Production-wise, the track is slick, woozy, a little hypnotic, and even ominous at times. Capturing the usurping of mundanity, as one becomes fruitfully surprised with the temptation of love, turned agitated fixation, Jaden disposes of the lifeless droning and instead reverts to his initial sweet-toned, vulnerable sound. A decision I find commendable as it only further sells his narrative. Another standout is the immediate follow up ‘Photograph’. With its gorgeous duet led vocals, Jaden and an uncredited, angelic voice strike a particularly moving and ethereal note. The photograph motif is incorporated geniusly as a means of referring to a selective and segmented memory of a past relationship turned sour. I am left wondering why there is such an absence of visceral, sincere moments like this throughout the album, as it’s inclusion, although welcomed, taunts me.
At a whopping 17 tracks long, and an artist like Jaden behind the wheel, it feels almost inevitable that more than a few half-baked tracks are likely to make the cut. In an absolutely criminal display of a bloated tracklisting, the album contains more than a few redundant and non-eventful tracks. The greatest offense here, ‘Drops of Sun’ compacts a sparse and vapid scarceness, with sluggish pacing. Irrespective of the number of times I subject myself to the track, it just feels so unnoteworthy, unremarkable, and like a sloppy regurgitative shell of sounds that have already received functional application. The track ‘Bad Connection’ is almost the complete antithesis, as its greatest downfall is just how short-lived it is. Jaden’s delivery is almost stone cold as he maps his gradual exposure as the victim of malicious relations. It’s exhilarating and clinical exterior just leaves me wanting more as Jaden sounds as focused and impassioned as ever. One must wonder what could’ve been as he leaves the track at a measly 1:44, glossing over any potential regarding the depth of his explorations.
Where Jaden has begun to veer away from his tasteless, cheap mimicry, it is his ever-prominent falsified wisdom that continues to plague his identity. Though framed as sage-like professions, the fact of the matter is that Jaden is criminally guilty when it comes to blurting out these self-entitled, cesspits of cringe. The track ‘Young in Love’ feels like the biggest offender, as Jaden once again heralds himself in some kind of innovative light. “It’s the rap archaeologist, old flow these young boys haven’t even thought of yet, lines that look like hippopotamus, need to get to speakin’ in colleges, too obvious, too much CO2 in the oxygen”, firmly associating himself upon a sovereign like pedestal, Jaden bites off way more than he can chew whilst stringing together the incoherent ramblings of a madman. The pretentious shortcomings continue as Jaden’s condescending wokeness spills into the track ‘Sunburnt’. “Soon as your wave hit me, I capsize, the water hit my pineal gland, I was baptized, bae, you like the moon, I need a peek of the backside, I saw a future for us, staring into a cacti”. Regardless of the implicit relation to drugs, and blissful embark, I struggle to see fluidity or reason as to why Jaden couldn’t have stuck to a far more tame and tasteful scheme.
Unfortunately, the dying moments of the album sustain the unpredictable and inconsistent formula that has remained present throughout. The audience receives an invitation into the Jaden canon on the penultimate track ‘The Birth of SYRE’. Established as the inciting track of the character's origin, Jaden details tortuous tribulations forging his alter ego. Unfortunately, the track’s manifestation fails to live up to the epic proportions Jaden so desperately wishes it to be as everything is just so dense. Jaden sounds emotionally devoid as his lifeless monotone voice returns. He evokes a certain lack of charisma through these grotesque, disconnected refrains that are done zero favours by just how one dimensional and underproduced the track is.
Thankfully the conclusive cut is freed from the hulking failures of its predecessor, as we end on one of the album's strongest songs. The uplifting ‘Boys and Girls’ feels like an appropriate closer as its musical palette feels like the full-circle result of where we started. Defined by its jovial, boyish energy, built upon a spine of piercing keys and thunderous, driving percussion the track suits the original picturesque desires of the project. Jaden sings of the perceived ‘nobody’s’ of the generation being the logical saviours who will inevitably spread love throughout the globe. This sentiment is made a potent one through the unison, corralling refrains that join Jaden’s sweet-toned, endearing delivery. It’s tracks like these that I find minimise the room for error and pretentious haphazard, and instead utilise the strongest elements of Jaden’s capabilities.
The ever beckoning question as to who Jaden is as an artist might finally be getting started with ‘CTV3: Cool Tape Vol. 3’. Though rife and riddled with shortcomings and lulled moments, his evident will to stray away from his contemporaries and find a voice of his own is far more commendable than any attempt I expected coming into this listen. Though sub-par in many areas, ‘CTV3: Cool Tape Vol. 3’ is not nearly as offensively and aggressively obnoxious with its flaws, but is instead a gradual, cradling exposure of the style over substance formula. It is apparent that between releases Jaden has, no matter how minuscule, refined his craft, and the improvement is evident, yet not without miles upon miles of room to grow. In many ways, I find the album's greatest weaknesses embedded in Jaden’s ambitions. From the homogenous, recycled sounds, to a blatantly bloated tracklist, to monotone drake-esque vocals, and worst of all, the presence of his superficial existential stance, his efforts are muted as he struggles to carve his own path.

CTV3: Cool Tape Vol. 3 - Jaden - 3/10

2020.08.25 18:34 tinysalmon4 [For Sale] Clearing out some space, Various things for sale

I'm not great with grading so I'll try and describe the condition and you can probably get more out of that anyways than VG- or whatever. All the records play fine, no major skips or anything.
Shipping will be $4 for the first record and $1 for each additional if you're so inclined.
George Michael - Faith - Original US press. Some mild edgewear and ringwear. Bend in the upper left corner. Has original innersleeve and lyric sheet. Innersleeve is a little beat up/creased. LP itself looks amazing, no visible scratches/scuffs. - $15
Leonard Cohen - Songs of Love and Hate (2016 reissue) - SEALED - $15
Sleater Kinney - No Cities to Love - Jacket is in great shape, some mild corner wear. LP has barely perceptable light scuff on side A. Otherwise side B is great. - $10
Perfect Pussy - I Have Lost All Desire For Feeling - This is the etched edition. Jacket is a little beat up, edgewear, bent corner, some sticker residue. LP looks great except a scuff on the etched side which obviously wouldn't affect playability. Has the insert - $5
Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five - The Message - The middle six or so inches on the spine is split and smaller splits on the top and bottom. No innersleeve. Some corner denting and a little ringwear on the back. LP has a decent amount of light scuffing but only one scratch that I'd guess might cause a skip. Could use a wash though. - $12
The Timelords - Doctorin' the Tardis 12" Single - Some light edge/corner wear and a few light scuffs on the record. Nothing unseemly. - $5
Neil Young - Trans - Some light corner wear and some creases near the spine. Has original innersleeve but it's got a split in it. LP has very light scuffing. - $5
Wham - Make it Big - Jacket is in great shape, still has the shrink on it. LP is also in great shape with just a couple light scuffs on one side. - $5
Various Artists - Woodstock Soundtrack - Expected wear for a 50 year old record, small split on spine, some bending, some edgewear some ringwear. LPs have scuffs but nothing egregious. - $10
The Police - Outlandos d'Amour - Light edge wear and corner wear. LP has a few light scuffs. This has a Red logo on the cover. Also has original innersleeve - $10
The Police - Synchronicity - Very light corner wear. like two scuffs very light on the LP. Great shape. - $8
The Police - Zenyatta Mondatta - Edgewear, some scuffs on the cover. One medium/light scratch on the LP that might pop but I doubt would skip. Has original innersleeve but it has come unglued (fixable). - $8
The Doors - Waiting for the Sun - So someone scissored the front cover off to hang on their wall, but I have it! If you put it in a sleeve it's not that noticeable. The LP is kinda beat up, needs a wash, pretty bad scuffing on the A side. - $5
The Doors - Strange Days - This one is in great shape. Minimal edgewear and ringwear. LP has a few light scuffs on the A side. - $15
The Doors - The Doors - Lots of ringwear and a small split in the spine. LP needs a wash, has lots of light scuffing and one nasty scratch that I would bet will pop but might be better if you clean the record. Stereo btw - $8
Tangerine Dream - Underwater Sunlight - Cover has some ring wear and a banged in spot on the bottom as well as a bent corner. The LP has one tiny scratch but is otherwise pristine. - $5
Tangerine Dream - Exit - Ringwear, some creasing on the spine. A few scratches on the record that could possibly pop. - $5
Tears for Fears - The Hurting - Split spine, some edge and corner wear, has original insert (split) LP has a good amount of light scuffing but nothing serious - $5
Beach Boys - Endless Summer - Really nice shape which makes me guess it's an 80's reissue. Very light edgewear, cover has come a little unglued (fixable). LPs are in great shape. - $5
Sting - The Dream of the Blue Turtles - Corner ding is the only thing wrong with the jacket. Has the lyric sheet and innersleeve. One scratch that's light/medium, otherwise LP is great. - $5
Skrillex and Diplo feat. Justin Bieber - Where R U Now? 12" Single - Like new condition, clear yellow vinyl. - $5
Blade Runner OST - To be very clear, there were issues when Blade Runner came out and they couldn't release the actual Vangelis score, so they did the next best thing and put out this record which is the score composed by the New American Orchestra. Jacket has light corner wear, LP has a tiny amount of very light scuffing. - $5
The Kinks - One For The Road - Jacket has a good amount of shelfwear and ringwear. Discs have some light scuffing. Well loved copy. - $5

2020.08.11 10:27 fhdtt3fdhdfg As a Gen Z, why can't people accept that I like old music?

I'm a huge fan of 80s music and I listen and love everything in that decade from Cyndi Lauper to Judas Priest.
I'm not a baby boomeGen X who thinks that old music is better. I'm actually a Gen Z adult gamer who played alot of GTA 3, Vice City, Vice City Stories, San Andreas and Liberty City Stories as a kid, so I'm also a fan of 90s gangsta rap, grunge, alternative rock, 70s rock, funk, disco and Italian disco. But anything from the 80s has always been the top of my list.
Now, I don't like modern music, maybe it's the lyrics or the instrumentation that I don't like. BUT, it's not because I think modern music is shit. It's just not my preference. I know people who like modern music and I don't make fun of them. If you like a certain band/singer, then go ahead and enjoy their music. Everyone should enjoy their favorite music without being pressured by other peoples' opinions.
Now whenever I have revealed my music preferences to some of my peers and on certain websites/forums, they will usually say something like:
- Why do you think modern music sucks?
- You do know that not all music from the 80s was great. The 80s had bad music.
First off, I absolutely do not think that modern music is shit. As I said before, it just isn't my taste. If you like Billie Eilish, Post Malone, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, etc, by all means, enjoy their music, support them, etc.
For the second point: yeah no shit, every decade has bad music, including the 2010s/2020s and the 1980s. Obviously, there are some bands/singers in the 80s that I'm not a fan of because I think their music isn't pleasent to listen to and that's perfectly fine.
So I usually say something like: "I'm just not a fan of modern music". But for some reason, they just can't fathom that.
When I then ask them "why don't you like 80s/old music". They will then say something like "well I have different tastes". Then I COULD easily have asked:
- Why do you think 80s/old music sucks?
- You do know that not all music from the 2010s/2020s was great. The 2010s/2020s had bad music.
But I know that would sound stupid. So I just leave it and move on.
Could someone explain why some people can't accept that I like different music then them?

2020.08.11 09:22 samthedamaged SM buttlicking the Western Validation is one of the most satisfying yet infuriating thing Happened to me in a while.

So, let's start shall we SM-nim??
2012
C'mon let's go for exo's teasers in 2012...hmmm..I clearly remember reading something as "dominating the world"..Okay SM let's try :). One of the most anticipated groups in a decade, SM debuted EXO. Although it garnered a lot of hate at first it was for sure that the grp had immense potential.
2013
EXO released xoxo did a whole 180 and became possibly the biggest thing in the entire SEA(I'm not even kidding , I live in northeast India and We heard growl in local stores).
Became the 1st million sellers in 12yrs with that album. Reviving the physical market ,opening doors for new opportunities and unleashing the potential to reach further spectacular heights. EXO was the group companies dreamt of at that time.
2014
Dating scandal, tensions rising - the new 2yr old EXO rookies still managed to shine through it and excell. They released overdose (our last ot12 cb) it became a massive hit. The winter album-- The Lost planet....no matter how hard we struggled , we as fans knew what we wanted for EXO and so did the boys.
2015
Regardless of members leaving and the revelation of SMs ugly slavery system, EXO thrived without 3 of the potentially most famous members. The utter devastation of fans was healed with the redemption the boys achieved through their Music. This year EXO won awards in the EMAs contending with the likes of Justin Bieber and 1D. As a fan at that time if you'd have asked me - I couldn't even possibly tell you all what me and my sister dreamt for EXO. Every Exol had dreams and we were so sure of it being fulfilled in the near future. P.S. I still consider Love me right as their best title track. :). Fans wanted a world tour now.
2016
A beautiful year as an exol ngl.Although members were injured and had had health complications behind the scenes, which honestly saddens me till this date-Like SM how were you still mistreating these gems?? Was it so hard to manage them properly??? They're still so young and full of the same potential.Lay got his solo debut and went on to become one of the biggest stars of the mainland. We as exols were excited for the near future to say the least. This year had the highest highs and some very low hard hitting points. The EXACT album was monumental.
2017
Massive anticipation....This was EXO we are talking about. Individual teasers reaching above 5mil.We were ready for new heights in their careers. Noone, when I say--Noone would've believed you if you'd say EXO is going to peak this year... We literally screamed our souls out for just a proper World tour but they denied us. They refused to let exo go for any popular interview (they denied rolling stone saying they didn't have make up on🤡). EXO never promoted in the west but their demand was huge compared to other kpop acts at that time.
SM undermined them to the point the members started to believe they've got nothing outside sk and the SEA.
They denied interviews, they denied western collabs with grammy winning artists(till date exo has only one collab), people have gone to the point to admit that SM doesn't allow things for EXO.. They didn't look into the 2018 potential Coachella performance, they didn't let fenty collab with Kai, They refused to give us a bare minimum of promos for a fucking 5yr old group....They weren't even old ..Xiumin was 25/6. It boils my blood how SM practically turned a blind eye to the demands of the fans and the boys. EXO always said they wanted to do more....it's so sad to revisit what we as fans went through in those months. We never wanted youtube channels with 1000s of videos we don't want 3/4 comebacks in a year...we just wanted to see our boys once live that was our only wish. We wanted to see them performing together in front of us. Was it really that hard to provide SM? I cursed myself for liking EXO thru all this, most exols lost all their dreams we once had for EXO..because it was the clear truth that SM won't give us no matter how much we beg. They even started decreasing the no. of tour dates in the SEA.🤡
EXO has been the money makers of their company for years but the treatment they get in return is discriminatory. And same goes for gg RV who SM could've easily made the Nation's Girl Group but no-.
SM hit a jackpot with EXO. EXO's power and influence is forever gonna stay unparalleled. SM could've had it all with EXO--the things they're scratching the ground for. SM underestimated EXO and now it's funny to me how they're struggling to get that Western Validation .
Like even RV could've done well in The west if SM is THAT desperate....Like good promos and strategies could've propelled the girls into Global stardom.
Nothing more hilarious than see SM look like utter clowns for their marketing strategies to cater the "West". Promoting edgelords like styling and heavy metal /edm of the early 2000s. I just smile at what they're doing and it's satisfying to see them look like that. They're trying so hard but failing....
Anyways what embarrased me was them using Kai Baek in this clownery. Like put some respect on their names ....they're literally seniors and you try this... I cringe at every move SM is making.Like stop it already?? Noone cares about the West anymore. Do what you do best, get back the RnB style. I really don't mind A collab group but pls the songs??? Like Jopping was iconic but the corny ass lyrics?? And wtf is that song 100??.......sorry but these aren't the future of music...or atleast I hope not lol. And no it's not Capitols project,, it's SM promising stuff to Capitol and hence they're funding superm.
If SM keeps this up I don't really see them succeeding anytime soon.Like it was all fun and jokes until this became a pure source of embarrassment.

2020.08.05 17:56 ND_PC Total Madness Player Playlists: Johnny "Bananas" Devenanzio

Yo Challenge fans! It's time for the latest addition to my player playlist tribute series for Total Madness! tl;dr the Johnny playlist is in a table at the bottom of this post.
This is the penultimate playlist of my Total Madness tribute series, which aims to honor each player on this season in a playlist of about 25 songs apiece. Using the lyrics, the mood, or the title of a song, I try to reflect the player's profile, personality, and narrative. For vets, since this is my first season doing this, I'm trying to include a bit about their career as well as their time on Total Madness.
The Johnny playlist is finally here! (The Jenny playlist will be my last release, on Friday.) Believe me when I tell you that Bananas's playlist went through quite a few iterations. I initially put a lot of weight on his earlier career because he has had quite the storyline. I had to keep reminding myself that this is a Total Madness playlist primarily, and not a career playlist, so I kept adding songs about winning because, well, he won. I then scrapped the whole thing (I'm crazy) and re-built it back up to include highlights from his career, highlights from this season, and also some songs about winning because, well, he won.
Love him or hate him, this man has done a lot for the show. He has quite the track record to prove it! I included songs about a handful of his wins (The Island, Rivals, Free Agents, Rivals III, Total Madness), songs about winning his way back into the game on Exes II, a song about him stirring the pot, some songs about him giving toasts, some songs about being the best, and more (think: what are some of the most iconic Bananas moments on the show?). As for this season, I included a song about his friendship with Wes and another about him and Wes, er, "helping out" Kailah and Bear by rearranging some furniture. But worry not, I know he can be polarizing: While a lot of these songs are celebratory or are braggadocious, I tried to include some songs to indicate how sinister Johnny can be. As we're quite well-aware, he's a strategist, a politician, and a professional pot-stirrer. My hope is that all of those characteristics are reflected just as much as the happy and braggy stuff. As far as vibe goes, I think the playlist works pretty well narratively. I tried to start on a high note and run through the highlights chronologically as I usually do. There's a lot of rap/hip hop in there, but a good amount of rock/pop-rock/straight-up pop as well.
I have one more playlist to release on Friday, the Jenny playlist! To that end, if you have any suggestions at all for Jenny's list, let me hear them! Also, if you have questions or comments about any songs on the Johnny list, let me hear those as well! Even if you want me to add a song, I'm totally down for that too.
If you do want to listen to any of my previous Total Madness playlists, here you go: Asaf, Jenn, CT, Ashley, Jay, Tori, Jordan, Bear, Big T, Kailah, Jenna, Wes, Mattie, Swaggy, Nany, Aneesa, Josh, Dee, Nelson, Melissa, Rogan, Bayleigh, Kaycee, Fessy, Cory, Kyle.
If you need or prefer to read the Johnny playlist here rather than on Spotify, look no further:

2020.08.05 14:15 tinysalmon4 [For Sale] Thinning the collection

I'm not great with grading so I'll try and describe the condition and you can probably get more out of that anyways than VG- or whatever. All the records play fine, no major skips or anything.
Shipping will be $4 for the first record and $1 for each additional if you're so inclined.
EDIT - Added some more stuff
~~The Weeknd - Thursday - SEALED - SOLD ~~ Bob Marley - Legend (Best of) - SEALED. This is a Target exclusive gold vinyl reissue that's from 2018. - $15
Lizzo - Lizzobangers - This is a legit copy (I'm from Minneapolis and picked it up before she was famous and this became expensive). Jacket is great, very slight corner wear, otherwise perfect. Record looks impeccable. - SOLD
Rolling Stones - Exile on Main St. - Original 1972 pressing. Pretty much what's to be expected of a 50 year old record, 3 inch split on the spine, banged in corners, has come unglued where you put the records in inside the gatefold (This is fixable with some glue stick). no real ringwear though. Has the original innersleeves. LPs have some light scratches, maybe a few on each side.- SOLD
Grateful Dead - Workingman's Dead - Jacket has a decent amount of edgewear and a sticker on the cover. LP has lots of light scuffing but only one scratch that looks like it could cause a skip. Probably going to get some surface noise though. - SOLD
The Doors - LA Woman - This is in great shape for its age. Very minimal edge wear and the LP is nearly pristine. - SOLD

2020.08.04 00:54 JohnnyKarate22 Help me draw up my 'Yale Mary'

I'm quite happy with my overall chances in the T14 (but am trying not to count on anything!). I have a 17mid LSAT, 3.8x GPA from a #50-75 undergrad, but fairly meh softs and 3ish years WE. I think I have a decent story to tell, but don't we all. I'm applying for Fall 2021, and am working on gathering my application materials. I should be able to gather some decent LORs. I'd be very happy to attend many of the T14 schools, but have caught myself daydreaming about Yale lately (clerkship, big fed, academia opportunities etc.). Of course, I realize even with good stats it's a long shot. So I'm hoping to figure out a way to stand out a bit, and have an idea I wanted to throw out to you folks. I took a class in undergrad from a very prestigious history scholar with two degrees from Yale. Most of the student interaction (discussion groups, paper grading) came from her TA, and sadly I didn't make an effort to reach out to her. However, at the end of the semester we had to creatively present our final paper. I swear this isn't what all humanities classes are like. So I, to my everlasting shame, rewrote they lyrics to a Justin Bieber song in a humorous presentation of the theme of my paper. I recorded the video, hit submit, and never expected to think about that class again. Well, she loved it, and she reached out to me asking if she could share it with some colleagues. And that's pretty much it. My question is, would it be worthwhile to try to reach out to her for a Yale-specific letter of recommendation? Even if it simply supplemented my other LORs, I'm wondering if something like this might help me stand out. Or is it a fool's errand? Obviously she doesn't have much knowledge of my actual academic work, but I hope my other LORs cover that. Thanks for helping, and bearing with my somewhat ridiculous question!
